  • ClarityMEDStrategies provides coaching to individuals across all career stages, helping them reach their professional goals and thrive in complex healthcare environments. Coaching is a transformational change journey that empowers individuals to gain clarity on their current state – “Where am I, and how did I get here?” – and envision a desired future – “Where do I want to go, and who do I want to become?”. The coach serves as an objective, trusted, and unbiased guide who facilitates this change process. For coaching to be effective, it must cultivate self-awareness and help the coachee shift and expand perspectives to experience transformational, meaningful change. This reflective process echoes the wisdom of Socrates, who asserted “The unexamined life is not worth living”, reminding us that intentional self-inquiry is essential to personal growth.

Coaches engage in deep and therapeutic listening to create the sacred space for the coachee to personally unfold and find healing in being fully heard. Coaches lean into curiosity and ask powerful strategic questions to generate new possibilities and have the coachee reconsider the situation and see things from an expanded perspective. Coaches may employ assessments (TKI, DISC, MBTI, EQi; the 360 feedback tools) to facilitate the coachee having the honest and realistic self-awareness needed to appreciate, “where am I and how did I get here”. These assessments may be helpful to the coachee to appreciate their perspective may not necessarily be reality but reflect their perception of the truth. The ultimate goal of coaching is to help the coachee obtain clarity and facilitate the expansion of the coachee’s perspective of what the current options could be to obtain their desired future.

ClarityMEDStrategies employs coaching models and paradigms such as: the Inside-Out, Being Precedes Doing, and The Four Agreements.

  • Mediation is a voluntary, confidential, and informal process where the mediator — functioning as a neutral party — helps disputing parties reach their own mutually acceptable solutions. Unlike a judge or arbitrator, the mediator does not make decisions but facilitates communication, helps parties understand each other’s perspectives, and guides them in creative problem-solving to resolve their conflict. Mediation is a form of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) that is often faster, less expensive, and less stressful than litigation, allowing parties to maintain control over the outcome.

ClarityMEDStrategies provides transformative mediation services to facilitate the early and constructive resolution of conflicts and disputes, while promoting healing to individuals, patients and families, academic departments, and healthcare teams. The advantages of mediation as a form of early collaborative alternative dispute resolution (ADR) — in comparison to the more costly and time-consuming adversarial litigation process — are well known and include promoting healing, cost-savings, and time-efficiency.

Using principles of Restorative Justice, facilitated honest conversations lead to collaborative solutions, especially in cases involving interpersonal conflict or medical error. The data confirms that patients favor mediation because of the opportunity to express their feelings, which could result in the acknowledgment of the problem and an apology by the responsible party. As well, findings suggest there are true reductions in the emotional and financial costs of settling malpractice cases using ADR instead of litigation.

  • ClarityMEDStrategies provides presentations, lectures, seminars, and workshops focusing on professional development, coaching, and leadership strategies for emerging and seasoned healthcare leaders.

Effective Conflict Resolution emphasizes that conflict is normal and natural and everywhere. The goal of Psychological Safety is to create an environment that unlocks your team’s creative potential. At the heart of psychological safety is team learning. This requires team members taking interpersonal risk – which facilitates innovation, creativity, and collaboration. This work is foundational for medical education, patient-care, and patient-safety.
